“I tweaked something at the gym and I want to get back safely.”

Sports Injury Care in Ball Ground, GA

You don’t need to be a college athlete to have a sports injury. Runners, lifters, golfers, pickleball players and weekend hikers all get hurt — and most just want an honest plan to get back to it. That’s been Dr. Aimée’s work since 1993.

What it can feel like

Sports and activity injuries tend to fall into a few familiar patterns:

  • A strain or “tweak” that happened during a lift, a sprint or a swing
  • An overuse ache that builds over weeks — elbows, hips, shins, Achilles
  • An old injury that never felt quite right again
  • Losing strength, range or confidence in a movement you used to own
  • Being told to “just rest it,” without a plan for coming back

How Dr. Aimée approaches it

Before she was a chiropractor, Dr. Aimée spent years as a collegiate athletic trainer at Kalamazoo College, Yale, Drexel and Villanova, then returned to the gym as a CrossFit gym owner and USA barbell lifting coach and competitor. Returning people to activity safely is familiar ground.

Your evaluation looks at the injured area and at how you move under load — your sport, your training and your goals. Care focuses on settling irritated tissue, restoring motion, and a sensible return-to-activity progression so you aren’t guessing.

What your care may include

Depending on your evaluation, your care plan may include:

Not every patient receives every treatment. If we don’t think our care is the right fit, we’ll tell you and help you find the right next step.

That mix of sports medicine, coaching and chiropractic means she looks at how you move, not only where it hurts. Read more about Dr. Aimée →

When to see a doctor first

A suspected fracture or dislocation, a joint you can’t move or bear weight on, or any head injury with confusion, headache, vomiting or loss of consciousness needs medical care first.

Common questions

Can I keep training while I’m being treated?
Often, yes — with some changes. Dr. Aimée’s coaching background means she’d rather modify your training than take it away, as long as that’s sensible for the injury.
I’m not an athlete. Is this for me?
Absolutely. If you get hurt doing something active — at the gym, on the trail, in the garden — this is the page for you.
Do you work with other providers?
Yes. If you’re also seeing a physician, physical therapist or coach, we’re happy to fit into that picture, and we’ll refer you if something needs to be looked at elsewhere.
